Over 6 years ago we remodeled a very small Powder Room (3 ft wide x 8 ft long) for our client, Walter and Cecilia. They loved their green and black porcelain tiles with a few floral decos randomly placed throughout the walls. The pedestal was a gorgeous black ceramic with gold accents and it was damaged by accident beyond repair.
Working Within Restrictions
Having to replace this stunning pedestal was quite a challenge in itself but the size restrictions of a Maximum 25” wide with a 17” depth made it even more difficult. We looked at handmade iron, stone, and copper pedestals but none really stood out.
After several weeks of searching throughout the plumbing industries for upscale pedestals, I finally found an amazingly outstanding retro-modern handmade gold leaf pedestal 25” wide, 13” deep and 33” high. This magnificent pedestal was handmade in Italy and it took 6 months to receive it.
Installation
Once we received the shipment our installer, George of AG Building and Remodeling, had the challenge to remove tiles from the wall to accommodate the pedestal and the plumbing for the wall hung faucet. Unfortunately, we were unable to reverse the door opening for easier access to the bathroom due to the brick interior.
Completing the Job
When the project was completed, our clients were overwhelmed with their unique Powder Room and will engage us to remodel their Master Bathroom.
The gold leaf pedestal next to the dark green tiles is truly outstanding and the black faucet, toilet and accessories blend-in. As the bathroom is very narrow, we have attached pictures of each end of the Powder Room.
