Keep your kitchen looking and smelling great with this advice!

Are you tired of opening the windows every time your family member cooks something that doesn’t smell quite so good to you? If that is you, then there are certainly ways to eliminate cooking smells, keeping them from infiltrating the rest of your house or lingering for hours. Read on and discover these neat tips to eliminate cooking smells in your kitchen!

Clean Your Kitchen Routinely

One principle to keep in mind is that your kitchen will smell better when it is clean. Take out the trash whenever something that smells strongly goes in, and deep clean the kitchen when possible. The cleaner your kitchen is, the fresher your home will smell.

Open the Windows

One way to get pungent smells out of the house is to crack the windows in the kitchen. It is especially nice to do this on a cool day, when the heat or cold of the seasons won’t interfere with your home comfort. Opening the windows from time to time is a great way to ventilate your home in general.

Use the Exhaust Fan

The first course of action to eliminate cooking smells in the kitchen is to use your exhaust fan. Turn on the range hood so that it can suck up all the steam, grease, and cooking smells and direct it out of your house. The range hood is your first line of defense against strong cooking odors.

Deodorize with Baking Soda

Baking soda is an excellent and inexpensive tool to clean and deodorize your home. Placing a dish of baking soda on your kitchen countertop can help eliminate odors. It will suck up the odors in the air, thus making your kitchen cleaner and fresher.

Cleanse the Air with White Vinegar

Another way to cleanse the air from cooking smells is to boil a solution of white vinegar and water on the stove. White vinegar is becoming a staple household cleaner; it is natural, inexpensive, and strong. While it may produce a strong smell of its own, it is still an excellent cleaning agent.

Refresh the Air with Your Favorite Scents

If you prefer something sweeter, you can also boil some spices and lemon juice on your stove or use a scented candle or air freshener.
