How to Organize Kitchen Cabinets

Kitchen organization can be tricky. Here are a few tips to start you off right.

Are you looking to renovate your kitchen? If you have come up with a great new design, or if you are just looking to get a brand new look, your kitchen cabinets will play a large role in your everyday kitchen usage. Knowing how to organize kitchen cabinets could influence the design. These tips can help get you started!

Sort Most-Used and Least-Used Items

It is best to keep the most frequently used dishes on the easy-to-reach shelves and the rest on higher shelves or in a separate place altogether, such as in storage. For instance, you likely won’t need to keep all of your wine glasses on the lowest shelf if you don’t have parties every weekend.

Lightest on Top, Heaviest on Bottom

In principle, it is always best to store lightweight items on top shelves and heavy items on the lowest shelves, if possible. Aim to keep pots, pans, and bakeware in the lowest kitchen cabinets and light items, like glassware, on the top. Of course, there may be exceptions to the rule.

Organizers for Your Priority Items

The more specific your kitchen cabinet organizers get, the more restricting your kitchen storage can become. What if you don’t need built-in kitchen dividers for baking pans? If you plan to live in your home for a long time, you can customize your kitchen cabinets to store what you need most in the kitchen. Kitchen cabinet organizers can be built-in or removable; they can be racks, dividers, shelves, hooks, or containers.

By far the most functional kind of kitchen cabinet organizer is the pull-out shelf. You won’t have to scrounge deep into your under-counter cabinets again. Just slide out the shelf to see and get what you need.

Make Room for Countertop Storage

Some items are best kept on the kitchen countertop. These items would be ones you use all the time, such as your coffeemaker, blender, and stand mixer. You could leave them out as classic household countertop appliances, or you could hide them away behind appliance garages. With Magazi Kitchens and Baths, it’s up to you!
